The CDC says it is investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium infections that public-health officials have linked to Live it Up Super Greens supplement powder. The agency advises consumers who have the recalled products to discard them or return them to the store rather than consume them.

As of the CDC’s January 14, 2026 update, dozens of people across many states were reported infected with the outbreak strain, with illness onsets spanning late 2025. Investigators are using multiple streams of evidence, including epidemiologic data, to assess contamination pathways and to determine whether additional products or lots may be implicated.

What consumers should watch for

Salmonella can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, and can be more dangerous for young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. The CDC generally recommends seeking medical care for severe symptoms, signs of dehydration, or symptoms that do not improve.

The broader warning is about supplements that appear “healthy” but still carry food-safety risk when contamination occurs. The CDC’s guidance is straightforward: do not use the recalled powder, clean or sanitize containers and surfaces that may have contacted it, and follow recall instructions while the investigation continues.
